Good day, everyone! Happy Thursday! The sun is shining here in Milton, and it sure looks a lot like Spring!
The birds are chirping, and already making their nests in my backyard bird houses.
We back on to a lovely greenspace and forest, so we have many visitors that come each day. They bring me so much joy!
Raccoon families, that actually come up on my deck, and peek through the door to let me know that they have arrived. Lots of rabbits, with baby bunnies always running around. A resident skunk that comes to partake in the bird food that falls from the feeders, and even a sweet opossum, that kindly keeps the ticks out of my yard!
The squirrels run the fences, chasing each other for peanuts! The snails rest on the window sills, leaving their shiny little trails behind. The bees pollinate our deck flowers for fertilization, and the dragon flies are always seen resting on our umbrella.
Our earthworms keep our soil structure stable, and help our tomatoes grow so beautifully!
The garden spiders come out at night, and keep the mosquito population to a minimum.
The forest creatures are fascinating, and so important for our ecosystem! This summer, think about a way you could turn your backyard into a beautiful oasis. Create an inviting space, for our precious wildlife to visit. It is a privilege for me to witness what I see each day, and I feel blessed that these creatures feel comfortable enough, to linger. They have much to teach us. Who knows? You may see a snail and a worm, catching some rays, together!
